First Church has a wide and varied music program that serves the whole
congregation. The music program is directed by Rev. Alfa Radford. There a are two adult choirs, three
choirs for children and youth, and an Alumni Choir of former youth choristers. These choirs provide
music for our two Sunday morning services as well as for special services throughout the year.
Most annual church events, benefit concerts, musicals and special services are directly related to music and expression of Alfa and the music committee. These are the highlights of the church year, not just during holidays, but all year around.
You can tell the season by the by brass, kids choir or jazz echoing through out the building -- ending in rambunctious applause! At the First Church you will hear traditional holiday favorites, John Lennon or Brahms's Requiem at various points of the church year.
There are numerous choirs for every taste and for every age.
