About The Event
The FCB Legacy of Slavery Project invites you to join us on Saturday, April 12 at 7:00 pm in the Parish Hall for a showing of “A Tuba to Cuba,” the first of three films in this spring's Cuba and Race Documentary Film Series. Light refreshments will be provided.
“A Tuba to Cuba” follows the famed New Orleans Preservation Hall Jazz Band as they retrace their musical roots to the shores of Cuba in search of the indigenous music that gave birth to New Orleans jazz. The film celebrates the triumph of the human spirit expressed through the universal language of music and challenges us to resolve to build bridges, not walls. Check out a preview of the film here.
