About The Event
After a death, the body must be taken care of— “disposed.” Common means are burial and traditional cremation. But you may want to donate your body to science. There are evolving technologies and new choices to be made. Perhaps you want a green burial? Or do you want your body to become compost? We’ll explore what’s out there and what choices you may want to make now to get what you want in the future.
Corinne Elicona has worked at Mount Auburn for seven years in many different roles including natural burial volunteer, administration assistant, and crematory operator. She is currently Mount Auburn's Education & Digital Content Manager, working on creating educational content on Mount Auburn; its history, landscape, and legacy. She is passionate about fostering a positive discourse around death and promoting education about end-of-life choices and equity so that everyone can experience a good death.
She plans to talk about how Mount Auburn’s natural burial program works and how it’s different than conventional burial.
