Empty Nester’s Support Group

When their children leave home after high school, parents can experience a flood of emotion from joy to grief and everything in between. Some parents spend the last portion of their children's high school years anxiously anticipating this transition.

When our children were younger, there were many options for parent support groups, and it often felt easier to open up about our little kids' struggles. Now with young adults, it can feel much harder to ask for help and to share the ups and downs of this stage of parenting. You might find yourself wondering how you can best support recent graduates and how to show up for young adult children as they test their new independence

If you are in this transition, anticipating it, or are moving out of it and would like to meet with other parents who are in a similar situation for discussion and support, please reach out to Jess Hicks (jesszhicksyoga@gmail.com) to let her know of your interest, and mark your calendars for our meetings beginning on September 26. 

We plan to meet in person weekly on Tuesday evenings from 7-8pm for five weeks.
