About The Event
This holiday season the Senior Choir and a full orchestra will present one of JS Bach’s best-loved pieces - the joyful and celebratory Magnificat. The text of the piece comes from the Gospel of Luke and is also known as the Canticle of Mary. It is a prayer spoken by Mary rejoicing in the power of God and celebrating the role she has in bringing about the fulfillment of God’s word. The service will also look into the historical context of the composition, and look for a wider, universal message in the text. Children and youth are intentionally invited to attend and participate in this service and coloring supplies will be available in the Parlor. Childcare will be available in the nursery for children ages 0-6.
