Sometimes the road is laid out before us, a map of life, and sometimes the rear view perspective is clearest. In Kansas, the Oz metaphors are employed liberally. The other day, driving a back road home from Nebraska, I spotted a regular highway sign at the border of Kansas: The Road to Oz.
