Too long to be a short story, and not long enough for a novel, the novella holds a unique place in literature. Some of the greatest writers of the past 200 years have tried their hand at this sub-genre of fiction.
In this program, we will read and discuss four remarkable novellas: Ivan Turgenev’s First Love, Henry James’s Daisy Miller, Katherine Anne Porter’s Old Mortality, and Claire Keegan’s Small Things Like These. Enrollment is limited to 12 participants. If you are interested, please contact Peter Guthrie at email@example.com.
The program will meet on Sundays from 2:00-3:00 in the Parlor on 3/19, 4/2, 4/16, and 4/30.
