Message from the Committee on Ministry

The Committee on Ministry (CoM) acts as a feedback loop for the senior minister and the Parish Board to learn what we are hearing about the church’s ministries and congregational experience. Over the last five years, we have conducted listening circles and guided meditations to invite members and friends to provide constructive feedback. As many of you know, last year we conducted a church-wide survey. In addition to listening circles and surveys, CoM members have reached out to various members of the congregations for individual feedback sessions.

From 4 CoM reports, and other sources of feedback, we have noticed themes and concerns that have been raised more than once. The Parish Board this year also hosted several town halls during which much feedback was collected and a report issued. Thus, this year the CoM considered that we have sufficient feedback from all these sources, that instead of conducting feedback sessions with congregants, we would solicit feedback from staff and committees to learn what is being done to address some of the repeated concerns. In the spring we will provide our findings to the Parish Board and then to the congregation at the annual meeting. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please reach out to Jackie James (jamesjc@bc.edu).

In the meantime, we are here for you. If you have an appreciation or a concern about any aspects of our ministry, we welcome your thoughts. You can contact Jackie James or Eleanor Sugarman (esugarwoman@verizon.net) and we will be glad to hear from you.
