What is it with these people? Is it even possible to have a forthright, substantive, worthwhile conversation with someone you dismiss so completely? Is there any common ground? Could you possibly find it? Could you come to actually like each other? Ninety percent of the time, the answer is yes, but it’s up to you. Let’s talk about it and try out effective conversational techniques.
Join Monte Allen to discuss lessons learned from Beyond Contempt by Erica Etelson and to learn techniques for talking to people who hold differing political opinions, as field-tested by Monte in canvassing for the Democrats in rural Wisconsin.
