- Registration Open: Living With Health Challenges
Join us on the First Mondays of the month, starting November 3 through May 4, from 5:30–7:00 pm, on Zoom. Many of us are facing health challenges. Sudden and unexpected diagnoses, chronic conditions, and the resultant changes in our lifestyle may alter our perspective of our body and self, creating uncertainty and anxiety. Our relationships may also change in unexpected ways. We are forming a new support/discussion group based on the Small Group Ministry model. We will explore our personal experiences with health challenges, as well as our concerns about the impact of health challenges. There will be a different topic and questions each month. We will listen to one another and provide support by building trust that provides mutual understanding. We ask participants to commit to the monthly meetings, as your active participation is crucial to the success of this group. Facilitators: Debbie Dobbins and Rick Hawkins. To ask questions and/or to register for this program, please contact Rick Hawkins at livingwithhealthchallenges@uubelmont.org .

- Social Action Holiday Gift Fair: Save the Date and Vendors and Volunteers Invited!
The 2025 Social Action Holiday Gift Fair will be held on Sunday, December 7, 12:00 pm-4:00 pm!! Save the date for your own holiday shopping, volunteer, and help us find new vendors! The gift fair gathers organizations and artisans selling gift items to raise funds for causes aligned with our UU values or for social action programming at First Church (including migrant and refugee support, voting rights, climate justice, LGBTQ+ Rights, and the Legacy of Slavery Project ). And we are seeking new vendors for the fair! Help the gift fair provide an even greater variety of goods to benefit the good work of a broader array of groups, including some of our very own! If you or someone you know is interested in participating, here is what you need to know. Artisans market their work and support either the church’s social action program or a charitable cause of their choice. Artisans share 50% of their profits from sales made at the fair. To be considered for the fair, artisans can email holidaygiftfair@uubelmont.org with a description of their work by November 6. We would love for you to get involved and help us make the fair a huge success! Are you a social media maven, or at least tuned in to where and how to spread the word to shoppers?! Help submit notices to online calendars and social media sites in and beyond Belmont. Are you out and about around town? We need people to hang flyers around town a week or two before the fair. Are you available on the day of the fair? Join our team that day to help with set-up (8:00 am-12:00 pm), during the fair (12:00 pm-4:00 pm), or with break-down (4:00 pm-5:00 pm). To volunteer or for more information about the fair, contact Sara at saraoaklander@gmail.com or Kathy at katcrawl2@gmail.com . And thank you!
