About The Event
Welcome Blanket is a craftivism (activism through crafts) project started by Jayna Zeinman, who began the pussy hats.
She invites people to make one or more 10 x 10-inch squares - knit, crocheted, or stitched- or a 40 x 40-inch blanket. The squares are then sewn together to make a blanket. All ages are invited to participate.
There is a gathering on 12/17 from 2 to 3:00 in the auditorium of Beth El. There will be a quick presentation from Jayna and time to get together and make squares. Their Social Action committee will supply starter kits for people.
The Welcome Blanket project will end with a display of all the blankets sometime in March or April. The blankets will be given to RIAC - the Refugee and Immigration Assistance Center in Roxbury.
