- Our Whole Lives 8th & 9th Grade | First Church in Belmont
Eighth graders have the opportunity to participate in Our Whole Lives (OWL) a progressive, comprehensive sexuality education program, framed around sexual health, justice & inclusion, self-worth, and responsibility. 8th & 9th Grade OWL Register Today! Our Whole Lives for Grades 8 and 9 is offered every year starting in January, running through June. In order for a youth to participate, parents or caregivers must attend a required parent orientation and sign a permission form. Classes take place every Sunday evening, except holidays, from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. Registration for the OWL cohort for Spring 2025 is full. For those in need of a caring, listening presence, and those looking to volunteer as lay pastoral care. Reach Out Please contact us if we might be of help or comfort. We count on the congregation to keep us in touch with pastoral needs of our community. Contact the church office or Rev. Jablonski at 617-484-1054, ext 15. Pastoral Care The minister is available for those in need of a caring, listening presence. This can be most keenly felt in times of illness, sorrow, or loss but is also important during transitions in life, times of gladness and celebration, and times of reflection and contemplation. Please feel free to reach out to Rev. Jablonski at any of these moments. Lay Pastoral Care The Lay Pastoral Care Team works with and supports the senior minister’s pastoral ministry in reaching out to all members and friends of The First Church in Belmont. We support those who are adjusting to change, loss, illness, or death. We share in moments of celebration and happiness. We reach out to those who are unable to get out and who would like a visit. We share in situations that require a special touch of human kindness and an open ear. Lay Pastoral Care Team members are trained to be a caring, listening presence, but not to counsel, perform therapy, or offer advice. In all our contacts, we remember the importance of confidentiality. The Lay Pastoral Care Team relays important information to the Senior Minister and will only share information with each other to benefit from mutual insight and support. Beyond this, all information imparted to Lay Pastoral Care Team members will be treated with the same confidentiality that applies to the Senior Minister or as mandated by law.
