It features a democratically run organization where participants can sign up to either offer the opening candle, or a 20 minute reading, followed by 30 minutes of sacred silence and a closing. FCB Garden Group February 4 · 4:00 PM · Offsite This happens the first Thursday of the month at 4pm always in different locations around Belmont.

We offer a wide variety of adult programs which provide opportunities for learning and getting to know other church members. For many, the adult programs are a substantial part of their First Church experience. Adult Programs The Adult Programs Committee (APC) works with First Church staff and congregants to develop and host programs for members, friends, and the larger community. We strive to meet the spiritual, intellectual, and emotional needs of our congregation with a variety of both ongoing and one-time events. Additionally, Reverend Martha Durkee-Neuman oversees and supports the Small Group Ministries program. Ongoing Groups The Adult Programs Committee oversees a variety of interest-based groups led by church members which meet regularly to explore these interests. Some programs meet monthly, others meet weekly, and some meet for just a few sessions during the church year. These programs are publicized on the FCB website, in the weekly newsletter The Unitarian , and in the Sunday Order of Service. You can also check the Church Events Calendar . Program descriptions are provided along with contact information for group leaders. The APC discusses proposals, develops programs, and then schedules, advertises and hosts these events. Small Group Ministry Overseen and supported by Reverend Martha Durkee-Neuman, and facilitated by FCB members, Small Group Ministry groups offer a more intimate space for personal growth. Meeting either in person or via Zoom, participants connect with other FCB community members, reflect on spirituality, wrestle with big questions, share from the heart, and practice focused listening.
