Hello Families, This Sunday February 22nd is a Curriculum Sunday! Children will be invited to start in worship and depart together after the story downstairs to class. A One-Room-Schoolhouse Style RE Lesson is offered during the 9:00am service. Age-Based RE classes are offered during the 11:00am service. Don't forget to register your children for the program here! RE Child Pickup Policy:  We are excited that some enthusiastic volunteers are bringing back food to coffee hour! With this shift, many children are excitedly dashing up to the Upper Gathering Hall after RE class. We want to make sure that children are reunited with their families after RE and service concludes. We also want to make sure that volunteer RE teachers have an opportunity to attend coffee hour. So starting in the New Year,  please pick up your child from RE Class promptly when the service ends   before going to coffee hour.  This applies to any child 6th Grade and younger. If your child is not picked up, they will be dropped off at the nursery until you are able to collect them. Thank you for working with us to ensure a smooth transition between class and coffee hour! Save the Date! The 2026 Women's Retreat in North Andover will be the weekend of April 24-26. Registration opens March 6. This long-standing tradition includes music, food, fun, games, a workshop, facilitated small-group conversations, and crafts. Come build new friendships and strengthen old ones. Questions? We are accepting used adult sized clothing, new (unused) men's and women's underwear and white socks, unused travel size toiletries, used (functional) bags, sleeping bags, and blankets. No children's clothing, please! Clothing and supplies will go to the Common Cathedral urban ministry program.

Hello Families, This Sunday January 25 is Multigenerational Worship with our partner church in Transylvania! There will be one service at 10:30. Children can participate in worship with the rest of the congregation, or they can go downstairs to the RE rooms where there will be childcare offered. For those young people in our OWL class at 11:00, they can either be downstairs until class begins, or they can be in worship until 10:55, at which point someone will come upstairs to quietly pick them up and escort them to class. Transylvania partner church service and lunch on Sunday 1/25, 10:30am.  Did you know that we have a close partnership with a Unitarian church in Transylvania? We are having a simulcast service with them on Jan. 25 in the Parish Hall—please stay after service to enjoy homemade Hungarian lunch! There will be pasta with butter for kids who prefer. 2026 Women's Retreat at First Church on February 20 & 21.  The 2026 Women’s Retreat will take place February 20–21, beginning Friday from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm and continuing Saturday from 8:30 am–5:00 pm. Centered on Gratitude in Our Lives, this year's Women's Retreat includes conversation, crafts, storytelling, and guided meditation. The cost is $85 and includes wine and cheese on Friday evening and breakfast and lunch on Saturday. Participants are asked to bring a meaningful object for an activity and a book for the book swap. We are aware that this falls during Belmont school vacation, and the scheduling will be different in future years! Register  here . For more information:  www.thridact.org/massachusetts/ 2) Donate to your favorite environmental group! 3) Attend the next FCB Green Meeting at First Church on Tuesday, January 27 at 7 pm For zoom link, email prilcobb@gmail.com 4) Join us on Sunday, January 11 for Eleventh Hour standout in front of the church to bring attention to the need for action on climate. This month, we'll meet in front of the church at 10:45 and end our stand out in time for the 11:00 church service.

We are happy to report that this year's Social Action Holiday Gift Fair raised over $11,000 for 20 charitable causes (including our own social action efforts)! And, in addition to the funds raised, shoppers and vendors alike let us know how much they look forward to and enjoy the fair each year. Some of our vendors shared their appreciation with enthusiastic comments ranging from "wonderful atmosphere" to "well organized" and "I love the fair!" All of this is thanks to so many of you who volunteered and so many more who shopped. It couldn't happen without you!
