Social Actions You Can Take This November

Dear First Church,

Here are a few ideas for Social Actions for the month of November:

1) Attend weekly Bearing Witness standouts at ICE Field Office, 1000 District Ave in Burlington, every Wednesday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm

If you'd like to connect with others from FCB to go as a group, send an email to socialaction@uubelmont.org

2) Donate to a local food pantry (Belmont Food Pantry, Greater Boston Food Bank, Grow Clinic) to address increase in food insecurity that is resulting from actions/inaction by administration in Washington, and/or bring donations of food and/or supplies for the Grow Clinic to the church. Links for donating are below.

3) Attend "ICE out of Waltham" Vigil on Saturday, November 8, 11:00 am,  meet at Waltham District Courthouse at 11:00 am for a march to Waltham Common, rally at common at 12:30 pm

4) Donate to Aid Bakhshi Family, refugees from Afghanistan, who have been connected with First Church through a neighborhood support team since 2021. Here is the Go Fund Me link with more information about the family's needs and how to help:
