< Back Sunday Morning Childcare Provider Reports to: Assistant Minister for Lifespan Faith Formation Type: Part Time Location: On Site Hours: 4 hours on Sunday Salary: $22.50 per hour About the Role This position provides Nursery care for infants and toddlers ages 0 – 6 years of age Sunday mornings from September through mid-June. We need two childcare providers every Sunday and can work with you for how many Sundays a month you would like to work. The adult provider is often paired with a teen provider. We work to maintain a ratio of 1:4, helpers to children. Our average attendance on a Sunday morning varies but is often from 2 to 10 children. Occasionally there may be a few older children, under special circumstances. A parent will be requested to stay if the number is higher than 8 children total. This position is supervised by the Assistant Minister of Lifespan Faith Formation. If the Assistant Minister is not on site supervision is provided by the Senior Minister. Duties consist of: Provide quality, nurturing care to infants and toddlers enrolled in the program. Communicate effectively with infants, toddlers, their parents, and other staff. Demonstrate skills to properly address developmental needs of infants and toddlers. Maintain effective working relationships with children, parents, and staff. Maintain a safe, clean, care-giving environment , practice good personal hygiene and hand washing to assure the well- being and safety of all of children in nursery care. Sign In each child as they arrive. The attendance sheet is located on the table inside the nursery. Children are also required to be signed out when exiting the nursery. If the family is new , please have them complete a Visitor Form and leave the completed form next to the sign-in, sign-out sheet. When time permits, toys and surfaces should be wiped clean and any unwanted toys discarded or given to the Assistant Minister. Please return all toys to their proper bin/shelves before exiting the nursery for the morning. Inform the Assistant Minister if there is something missing or needed for the nursery. Requirements Experience working with young children is required , and the applicant should enjoy working with children. First Aid and CPR certifications are desired for this position. If the applicant does not have this training, training will be provided. Applicants will be asked to complete a Criminal Background application (CORI) in accordance with our Safer Congregation Policy. About Us We are a thriving congregation of more than four hundred adult members and nearly a hundred children and youth. We are diverse in faith, history, and spirituality, and aligned in our desire to make a difference for good.
