An Update About the New Assistant Minister

Dear First Church,

On behalf of the Parish Board, we are delighted to share information about our incoming Assistant Minister.

Martha Durkee-Neuman will be joining FCB as of September 1, 2024. Some of you may remember Martha from a guest sermon she gave last May, All That You Touch, You Change. Martha has deep roots in Massachusetts through her studies at Harvard Divinity School, her work with Sanctuary Boston, her role as Director of Religious Education at First Parish in Malden, and her experience with the UUA as a Young Adults Co-Coordinator at General Assembly.

Martha is completing her congregational internship in Seattle, WA, and has just completed a successful appointment with the Ministerial Fellowship Committee (MFC). She will be cleared to be ordained sometime next year.

To learn more about Martha, we are providing links below to some worship videos and her resume and cover letter.

While we are excited for Martha to join the team, we are also mindful of taking these next few months to appreciate our Director of Religious Education, Nate Sellers, and DRE Assistant, Wendy Conroy, and their many gifts and years of service.

We will share more about Martha as the fall approaches.

So much love to you all,

Laurie Graham, Rev. Chris, and Martha Read
