We are invited to join our Christian neighbors and people of all faiths on Good Friday in prayer and protest to demand protection for our immigrant neighbors and our communities.
On Good Friday, we remember Jesus’ persecution and death at the hands of the Roman Empire. This memory calls us to be in solidarity with the crucified peoples of the present, especially our immigrant neighbors.
On Friday, April 18, at 4:00 pm, beginning at the Thomas O’Neill Federal Building downtown, we will gather to call upon our state legislators to pass the Dignity not Deportations Act and to get ICE off our streets and out of our churches.
Jesus was a refugee. He welcomed the stranger, included the outcast & spoke truth to power. “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:39) You cannot love your neighbor and deport them at the same time.
