Our 40th Anniversary Season was the most successful in Second Friday's history. This is the third year in a row that we have said this.
We averaged ~143 attendees for our monthly shows (up from 125 last season), including 3 sellouts. Our concessions table also had its best year ever, selling an average of ~$185 of baked goods every month!
This year, we chose four charities to work with: Belmont Food Collaborative, The Boston Immigration Justice Accompaniment Network (BIJAN), Pink Haven Coalition, and Chaplains On The Way. We are donating $2800 to each of those four charities. We are also donating $3000 to First Church. Additionally, we already donated $2000 to the Maher Family Christmas Toy Drive after our annual Jonny Kringle concert.
Our Second Friday website newsletter now has over 1100 subscribers. Our Eventbrite page has over 600 followers, and our Facebook page has 450 followers. Artists consistently describe us as one of the best concert series around and ask for return engagements, which is a wonderful compliment and testament to our incredible team.
The Second Friday Concerts Committee (Jim Hall, Neil Holmes, Jeff Isen, Roger Miller, Heather Quay, Jason Redi, and Jon Svetkey) would like to thank our regular volunteers (non-FCB members Meg Bond, Lyn Ferguson, Carol Holmes, Brian Doser — our extraordinary sound man — and FCB member Matt Mayerchek), our artists, season members and audiences. We are immensely grateful to have the opportunity to serve the FCB community, and we look forward to our next season of great fellowship and great music.
Respectfully submitted,
Jon Svetkey (for the Second Friday Team)
